#SessionNote # Session 0.5 ## Our players enter a tavern called the [[Loot Tavern]] [[Heliana]] guides everyone through the portal created by the [[Port Ale]] they drank. The sensation wasn't jarring or uncomfortable. They simply were in one place and then another. Their destination, however, may have cause some ear popping as they learned that they were seemingly flying through the air on a rocky outcrop connected to another rocky outcrop by a stone bridge. Looking around they found a few more rocky outcrops, all flying, all connected by a large wooden building using them as their foundation. Berthed at the other end of the building was a Space Galleon named *[[The Loose Change]]*. As they entered, Heliana noticed [[Janis Hoplin|Janis]] wasn't with the group causing [[Cadoperious (Caddy) Shortstout|Caddy]] to go back outside to investigate. Turns out Janis wasn't a fan of the perceived altitude and was having a bit of a freak out. Soothed by Caddy and with his support, she managed to make it across the bridge and into the tavern where the group took some time to re-introduce themselves to each other. Moving into the tavern proper, [[Lyta of the Embereye|Lyta]] notices one of the Scry Screens^TM has [[Gauntlet News Network|GNN]] on and expresses and interest to sit near it. We find out that nearly everyone in the group are Gauntlet fans and that [[The New Dawn Market]] was the first place [[Miralith Stormhoof|Miralith]] visited when she left her home world. ## Lut has joined the chat [[Lutecia]] greets everyone with a warm smile and welcomes them in. Heliana has already clued her in to everyone being potential recruits and lets them know everything is on the house for [[Monster Hunters Guild|guild members]]. She takes the time to meet everyone and takes their order and advises them to steer clear of [[Cacophonics]]. [[Janis Hoplin|Janis]] takes a minute to describe Poutine to Lut and sends their order off to be fulfilled. Their drinks arrive by [[4-1-b]] as conversation happens at the table while they routinely check the Scry Screens^TM for updates on both the GNN feed and, what they've learned is the airing of the final day of [[Hippusschlap]]. A chime across the tavern announces an impending plane shift just before 4-1-b brings by the food. Chit chat continues, a [[Gauntlet News Network#In 2. Session 0.5 - 05-03-2025 Session 0.5 we watched a press conference by Manheim DeLorean explaining that a team known as Oops, All Josiahs had been disbanded from team competition for the rest of the season. The only reason stated was that when each of the team members where in close proximity to each other, there was some kind of compounding power effect that rendered the matches unsafe for staff and attendants. Manheim indicated that the members could continue to participate in the individual match circuit but until The Gauntlet The Grey Council could figure out how to neutralize the danger, the risk to allow the team to continue was just too great. There were many groans in Lut's Bar at the news as many patrons apparently had wagered a decent amount of coin on Opps, All Josiahs to take the championship at the end of the season.|GNN story]] stuns many patrons of the tavern. ## Peep this Flumph **Hey look!** It's [[Peeper]]! Peeper comes by and introduces themselves as basically the being responsible for all the paperwork in the tavern. They give the basics of how the guild works in terms of compensation and "squid-pro-quo." Powering through the distraction of the broadcast on the Scry Screen^TM, Peeper gives the group the paperwork to take to Lut for a go bag-of-holding containing Port Ales back to the tavern, some healing potions, and all the storage minutia needed to harvest components from their hunt. Their destination is a planet called [[Floran]]. Supplies in hand, they set out exiting the Loot Tavern only to discover they were no longer in the serene, puffy clouded, endlessly blue landscape of the Astral Sea but in the middle of space. Why does the Loot Tavern change locations? Unknown at this time. How? Who knows… ## On to Floran Just like the teleport to the tavern, the teleport to Floran was smooth until you're hit by the humidity. A quick, if not uncomfortable conversation with the locals you're greeted by Earlington briefs you one what you're hunting. Exiting "Gaptooth Willie's Licker Whole," you learn is a giant "Gator," it's the size of 3 or so Miraliths, it doesn't like fire, it doesn't like it when you hurt the regular sized "gators." and that it seems to find some kind of aid whenever it goes to its "holler." Following the path around a creek, you find the gators! ## Combat Highlights * Not taken by surprise, the group engages 4 normal sized aligators * The first few attacks against the gators go wide or just don't get purchase * Caddy throws out a Faerie Fire which will turn out to be super beneficial * The gators first few attacks though seem to hit pretty heavy after biting and grappling Janis * She breaks free and flipping bunny hops away * Janis and Lyta take the lion share of the damage as they hold the line against the smaller gators * Lyta gets one shot by a crit and picked back up by Janis then healed by Miralith * Heals are thrown and the tide turns against the gators as a larger threat bursts out of the water ![[BigGator.jpg|100]] * The Big ol Gator lands and pins the last small one and sets to work * Janis gets a BS free shot against Big ol Gator because of Sentinel. * Janis gets downed by a big shot from a big gator but immediately gets back up by critting her death save * Lyta takes a big shot from Big ol Gator's tail and gets healed by Cady's artificed healing bomb * Some big shots against our group but they keep each other up with healing spells, potions, and great damage rolls in return * It looks like Big ol Gater is going to do a big ol retreat to it's holler and seek some kind of gater aid * Janis fucks that up with her stupid Sentinel feat * Caddy lands the killing blow with a fancy bank shot off Janis's shield. A most elegant attack. ## Group’s first harvest Having never harvested with purpose before, the group set to work. Miralith served as the Assessing Harvester while [[Jacob Hargrave|Jacob]] took on the roll of Carving Harvester. A few helpers and some buffs from a guidance spell, netted the group a pouch of teeth and a sizable chunk of hide. ## What happens next? Let's find out together.
