#SessionNote ## Our players find themselves in a "tavern" You carefully and cautiously make your way into this weird ass tavern in the middle of a place it shouldn't be. You walk in to totally not weird patrons having a rip-roaring time. Everything is fine and normal.... till it ain't. ## Battle What looked like a tavern was actually a whole-ass [[3. Tavern Mimic Brain|Tavern Mimic]]. The patrons melt into their chairs. Some of the chairs melt into the floor. Some, including a table attack! You fend off the mimics with damage to them seemingly transferring to the surrounding structure. When the Tavern had had enough of that, it changed tactics... AND YOUR SIZE! The world got bigger as you got smaller and found your tiny selves on a table surrounded by bread, cheese, and a big mug of "beer." But they were none of those things. Coin mimics attacked, a cheese mimic attacked, and finally a tankard mimic lumbered it's way into the fight. Luckily, you smacked them around enough for the Tavern to try something different just as the Tankard Mimic was about to enter the fray. All pretense out the mimic window, Jonjo Starr (missing half-brother of [[Dr. Francis Norman Stein|Dr. Stein]]) melted out of the wall declaring you all to be trouble makers. A giant Brain forms out of the ceiling and begins attacking. Haymakers are thrown, armor is broken, spells are cast. Valliant efforts are made until [[Miralith Stormhoof|Miralith]] remembers the Vial of Ooze Stein gave them in the off chance you ran into his brother or his missing tower. The ritual to trigger the vial took a bit of time. And in that time, you managed to kill the Tavern Mimic Brain and, presumably, Starr. The tavern begins to deflate around in a noise that could only be described as 100 wet farts. The floor begins to pool in acid as you all make your way to the door. Just when the roof looked like it was going to collapse in and consume you all, Stein cracks into existence, surveys the environment, and teleports you all and himself outside of the tavern. ## Loots and Harvest * 1,400 gold just in the mimic * 1 Robust Essence - Mimic * 1 Brain - Mimic * 5 Skin - Mimic * 4 Stomach - Mimic * 1 pouch of teeth - Mimic * 2 tongue - Mimic * [Mimickey](https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items/9787844-mimickey) - Item Dr. Stein's contract payout: 1,800 gold ## The Hunt is done With the battle over, you watch from the outside as the tavern deflates like a bounce house. Stein explains his speculations that his brother was dabbling in Lich-dom and mistakenly grabbed a mimic for his phylactery vessel. The biomancy run wild, turned him, the tower, and the mimic into one terrible creature. You're pretty well convinced Stein truly doesn't remember his time in the [[Maphrok Jungle]]. While you're pretty dubious about his morality, he seems on the up and up as far as not being up to anything nefarious. Teleporting back to the [[Loot Tavern]], you cross the bridge only to encounter a Space Clown, grumbling about something. He sees you, walks over, tells a joke, tells you Heliana needs to watch her back and leaves. ## Trivia Who got the killing blow on the [[3. Tavern Mimic Brain|Tavern Mimic Brain]]? Send me your answer in your personal channel on Discord for a prize! You've got until the start of Session 9 to answer. ## What happens next? Let's find out together.
